Short Tale: #1 when you have that “baby” face

No, I am not talking about people looking younger than their age; but people who actually look 6-7 years younger than their age. And now I know that is the case with me. I have like encountered more than 50 cases of now where the world reminds me I don’t actually look a grown up girl sorry rather an “adult”. Whenever I go to stationery shop the shopkeeper always asks me that whether I am in 10th and giving my boards? This means I look 8 years younger. And then again I need to explain him that no I just love shopping this stuff. I have never been taken seriously in shops and malls as they think I am school going kid.

I am in my last year of CA internship; in my workplace also all of the seniors exclaim I would look the youngest CA soon. So last week we had a trip to Hyderabad for some audit related work. We were returning to Ahmedabad in flight and the only seats which were available were those near the emergency exits. We adjusted ourselves there. The air-hostesses came to do all the formalities and check on the seat-belts and stuff. Amongst the two of them, one of the attendants was continuously staring at me and smiling; I felt she wanted to ask or tell me something. She then whispered something to the other attendant. I ensured that I had seat-belt on, for that wasn’t reason for her to stare. Suddenly in a confused tone she asked me “Excuse me, what is your age?” I told casually, “I am 22”; and they both laughed. I couldn’t understand what was going on. And then when they could believe that I was 22, she clarified that it’s because below 18 aren’t allowed to sit near emergency exit. I didn’t know what to react and everyone sitting in that row laughed. I was dumbfounded. I felt little embarrassed. Obviously it’s good to look young. But it comes with passing through such incidents in your life, where you never feel like laughing and you are in confusion whether you should be glad about it.

And someone has truly said, “Looks don’t tell the truth”.

  1. The kid sitting beside me in the flight had once asked me ,'Acha toh aap school mai nahi padhte ho?'.When I was soon going to wear '1 year industry experienced' badge!
I actually like it.Gives me reasons enough to postpone 'shaadi ke talks!'

Feminism 2.0

Yesterday, I was having a conversation with my old friend and he asked me if I was still blogging. And I sighed immediately. The worst feeling is not giving time to writing. There are so many things to be told but I just feel too lazy. But now let me make a resolution of at least trying to bring up to you one topic per month. I don’t promise though. So, why this topic? A cliched term? I am not the one to give opinion here. The word feminism has very broad meaning. But I always look up to it and construe the same with my own experiences. I am quite amused by the interpretation of being a feminist and rolling of eyes that is freely accompanied by this topic. The word feminist is interpreted as bitch in a black suit, men-hater and who always consider herself superior, sometimes “divorced” and also annoyed at the entire world. Absolute myths surrounding the word. How many of you come across women starting the topic with “I am not a feminist but...”? I mean why you need to justify? ...

Being with "YOU"....

It is important to meet pal who or indulge time with the things which gives you pleasure. Trust me it acts as a stress buster. Be it meeting your loved one, playing a guitar, dancing to bollywood tunes, playing with your pet or spending time with nature.   At least make it a point to do it once during weekends. The anxiety level goes missing from being to an intense level. And I realized it today. I decided to put off everything else and go to my best friend Pooja’s place. Yes!! She is my only pal who has lasted for a decade...lolzz!! Still each time I meet her I feel that our friendship matures and gets enhanced. I can be myself with her and blabber all nonsense; would tell her what I did each and every moment and she would nod to every talk even if she is not listening…:P… She is blessed with the patience to listen to my talks. And today was no different except that we decided to watch a horror movie together. N every time we decide to watch a movie together some o...

Amidst my Alley

Ever imagined that every person you see, every person standing on the street has a story, may be an extra-ordinary story to tell. Ever imagined that abandoned building is a home for many twittering birds. The stranger who bumped into you has fought a battle against cancer? Ever occurred? Me? Yes, I have a habit, habit of observing things around me and finding funny moments circling through that observation and also at times feeling the centermost creature on Earth, all of these, just while commuting. Seeing traffic police daily, reminds me of cartoon “ Make a way for Noddy ” and the sole police office in that animated series named Mr. Plod (no idea why I still remember). And a smile spreads across my face. Obviously, when you compare Mr. Plod to any traffic police you see on streets, with a huge belly and his whistle, you just laugh. Sometimes, if you are extremely lucky (well in my case, yes), they allow you to elude a rule and instruct you to just not stop and go, even if y...
